Nicola’s Note
It's Spring! What a busy and beautiful time. So many things are happening right now…
We've been holding our breath and just received the final sign-off from the city of Malibu! We can finally, officially open our doors. It's been a true labor of love (and faith… and maybe a little bit of craziness) over the last two years, and seeing it come together has been incredibly rewarding.
The space is beautiful and I’m so grateful to the team who brought it to life, Albert and Alexis Soof of Soof Construction and Design, who truly executed this vision with so much care.
At the same time, much of my work continues to live in research and education - contributing to publications, teaching, and staying at the forefront of where this field is going. I’m definitely a Libra in that way.
I find balance in being both in the clinic and immersed in research, and I truly believe doing both makes me better at each.
Which brings me to something I’m very excited to share.
Our latest research on post-treatment filler behavior has just been published (see the study below), and the implications are significant. What we’re seeing, clearly and consistently, is that we cannot continue to inject blindly.
This work is directly shaping how we treat at N2, guiding safety, natural outcomes, and long-term integrity of the face.
Beginning in June, all filler appointments at N2 will include ultrasound diagnostics as part of a comprehensive approach. This allows us to move beyond guesswork and into a more modern, informed standard of care.
This is the level of care we believe our patients deserve. And it’s something we’re proud to offer you.
We also hope, through our training center and continued education, that this becomes the standard across the industry.
But for now, it’s the standard here.
On a more personal note, this season feels especially full. We’re preparing to say goodbye to our medical assistant, Chloe, who has been such an integral part of our team and is heading off to PA school. It’s a bittersweet but very proud moment for all of us. At the same time, my firstborn is about to graduate and head off to college, which feels surreal.
It all goes by so quickly.
So, to all the moms reading this - Happy Mother’s Day! I see you, I love the conversations we share in the treatment room, and I know how layered this role can be. It’s the most meaningful one we have.
One last personal favor:
As we say goodbye to Chloe, we need to fill that gap and find another MA to support our team. This is an incredible opportunity for a Pre-PA, NP, or MD student. We have had great success and have gotten 3 out of 3 previous N2 MA’s into highly reputable grad school programs.

Moving Beyond Guesswork — What New Research Means for Your Results
For years, one of the biggest concerns around filler has been “migration”—the idea that product moves unpredictably after treatment.
The recent publication Nicola contributed to, “Analysis of Filler Spread: Facial Retinacula Play a Prominent Role,” brings much-needed clarity to that conversation.
